The Barkly Region Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Group Inc., known as BRADAAG, was established in 1982 as a community based group to address Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) issues in the Tennant Creek and greater Barkly region.  During the last thirty years BRADAAG has grown into a respected organisation and have experienced significant growth in their services and facilities.

Services include:

  • Sobering Up Shelter operates in Tennant Creek to provide harm minimisation for anyone affected directly or indirectly by alcohol.  This includes supporting intoxicated individuals who require a safe place to sober up.  Operating hours are Monday to Friday 24 hours and Saturday to Sunday from 4:00pm-10:00pm.
  • Adult Rehabilitation Program is a twelve week program designed to assist clients in understanding their addiction, its causes, and the way behaviour needs to alter in order to combat their dependency. Operating hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Family Program is designed to assist the family of residents whilst completing the Adult Rehabilitation program. The program consists of one house with four bedrooms. Operating hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Transitional After Care service offers alcohol & other drugs education and support to residents of services, families and individuals in the township of Tennant Creek and surrounding communities. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm.
