Community Legal Education Session- The care of very young children in separated families; a framework for parenting decisions

February 19, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Community Legal Education (CLE) session with Judge Young.  Care arrangements for very young children, in separated families, has been a topical issue for some time.  In 2014, Jennifer McIntosh, Marsha Pruett and Joan Kelly developed a “Framework for supporting overnight care decisions for young children of separated parents”.  This CLE will involve a discussion on points from the framework, considerations the Federal Circuit Court give to the developmental needs of very young children when deciding upon care arrangements, use of the “Charting Overnight Decisions for Infants and Toddles” form and resources that professionals and separated parents of very young children can use.

Opportunity for brief agency updates following presentation.
(Please note this event is for FLPN members.  Refreshments are provided.  Please specify any dietary requirements.  To attend, please RSVP by Friday 16th February by emailing the FLPN Project Officer or by phone.)
